Country > or < Rap?

Country: Country music as it's known today originated from two regional styles; the Southeast (country music) and the West (western music). They coincided sometime in the 1920s and became what we now know as Country-Western music.


Rap: Starting sometime in the 1970s as hip hop, rap music is poetry accompanied by a beat. "Gangsta rap" later stemmed from hip hop and was made popular by N.W.A.

Snickers: They cost 5 cents when they were first introduced in 1930. Today, Snicker's sales earn Mars, Inc. over $2 billion every year.

Submarines: The first submarine was constructed in 1620. The first time one was used in combat was 1776; it was a one-man wooden vessel.

Beethoven: Composed the 9th symphony after he became completely deaf. He used the vibrations from the piano to "hear" what he played.

Family Guy: Fox canceled the show...twice. After the second season it was canceled but then brought back on for a third season before being canceled yet again. DVD sales and demand brought Family guy back after missing three seasons.


The Simpsons: At 21 seasons, it is the longest running TV Sitcom of all time. Also, Bart is voiced by a woman.

Sriracha thai hot sauce is named after the coastal city of Si Racha where it was first produced for local restaurant's seafood dishes.

OnDemand: TV shows and movies OnDemand have no wait time. Some video rental companies have anywhere from 28 to 90 days wait time before shows and movies are available for rent.

Spring: the Vernal Equinox means "Spring" and "equal night" in Latin. There is a common myth saying that you can balance an egg on it's end only on the Spring Equinox. In fact, you can do this any time of year if you're patient and skilled enough, the equinox has nothing to do with it.


Fall: The days in the fall shorten unequally. The shortened days are due more to earlier sunsets than to later sunrises.

Checkers: also known as draughts, this game has possible origins in Egypt around 4000 B.C. However, the earliest dated manual for this game didn't come until 1549.
